GPI- new logoAnother Wednesday, another week, Dan Smith (GP1#1,=) one more time at the top for the 14th straight week of Global Poker Index(GPI)Rankings. He has been at #1 for the longest consecutive weeks. Do you remember Ole Schemion (GPI#1, =) also held the #1 spot for eight straight weeks from April 23 to June 11, 2014?

Schemion recently stood at second position in the High Roller event at the Master Classics of Poker, currently underway at the Holland Casino. His recent performance in Amsterdam will definitely effect the rankings next week. He was also the chip leader following Day 1 play in the Main Event in Amsterdam. You never know when he hits back again at the first position to be the 2014 GPI Poker Player of the Year.

On every Thursday, GPI (Global Poker Index) releases a list of top 300 Poker tournament players. To dwell this list of top Poker performers of the World, GPI maintains a Poker Index point system and uses special formula. Through this leader-board, GPI as well announces Player of the Year.

This week the Top 10 remains 100% indistinguishable, and this has happened for the first time in a very long time. It was a favorable week for many GPI300 members who cashed at the inaugural WPT UK. The final table participants Tamer Kamel (GPI#155, +110) and 2013 November Niner Sylvain Loosli (GPI#193, +105) are the two biggest movers this week.

WPT UK High Roller winner Bryn Kenney (GPI#22, +28) has shot right back up the standings. He may climb up the ladder next week following his final four showing in the High Roller event at the Master Classics of Poker, just a year after winning that very title.

Steven Silverman (GPI#286, -30) has fallen down the stream for the third straight week. This is lowest rank since January 21, 2013. 2-time WSOP bracelet winner, Athanasios Polychronopoulos has slipped by 45 points this week. He is only poker player with twenty-six letters in his full name make it the longest of anyone to ever win a World Series of Poker bracelet.
