Sebastian Pauli triumphed in the 7-day thrilling Main Event at European Poker Tour(EPT), London bagging £499,700 with the illustrious trophy. The German poker pro registered his biggest career win in live poker defeating a huge field of 675 players from across the world. In the High Roller event running alongside, the Canadian poker pro Andrew Chen hustled to win the title with a hefty sum of $633,150.
£4,250 EPT Main Event
The World had an eye on pros like EPT Season 6 Deauville winner, Jake Cody and EPT Season 6 Berlin champion, Kevin MacPhee when the final table battle started but Pauli stole the show in the end. MacPhee and Cody went down in a tussle to eliminate each other which ended up with the later busting out in 5th place with £133,800 in his pocket. MacPhee continued his aggressive game plan but unfortunately lost the battle in heads up with the champion Pauli. However, he managed to bag a handsome 2nd place prize of £308,500. The UKIPT Dublin Main Event winner, Kevin Killeen with £220,500 in 3rd spot and Arture Koren of Germany with £168,900 were the other notable cash finishers.
£10,300 UKIPT High Roller Event
Andrew Chen who lost the title race to Davidi Kitai at EPT Berlin back in 2012, claimed the High Roller title this year after defeating a pool of 173 players. The Russian poker pro Leonid Markin started the final day battle as chip lead with November Niner Jorryt van Hoof a close second but both fell short of the title. Markin bagged £145,800 in the 4th spot while Hoof added £49,400 to his pocket in the last place on the table. The 2012 WSOP bracelet winnerr, Craig McCorkell went long in the hunt of title with his poker tactics against the rivals and won £178,000 after getting eliminated in the 3rd spot. Fadi Kamar didn’t hold up tight in the heads up and lost the quick heads up with Chen adding £267,000 to his career live earnings.
