Anthony Hachem, son of Poker Pro Joe Hachem is picking up where his father left off as he leads the Main event of the 2013 Pokerstars.net ANZPT Melbourne Repechange after Day 1A. A total of 224 players had entered the $1100 buy in event and after a tough 13 Levels of play, there were 33 survivors who will now fight for the top honour.

With a prize pool guarantee of $750,000 and the repechange format being used for the first time here, the ANZPT has seen a lot of enthusiasm from the poker fraternity and fans. The Fast format of repechange saw Anthony Hachem go up against fellow Australian Gautam Dhingra in a closely contested hand. The latter lost quite a bit of his stack but recovered in the next few hands.

Hachem stood good at end of day 1A with 386,000 while Dhingra was second with 203,000 chips. Aron Joyce was third with 195,000 chips. Others who will be making it to Day 2 include Luke Brabin, Michael Faderson and Trung Tran. 2012 Melbourne Champ Jackie Glaizer will also be returning on Day 2 but with a small stack of around 50,000 chips.

Action of the ANZPT from the Crown Casino will return soon so keep watching this space to see whether Hachem takes the top prize or no.
