The First Bracelet winner of the 44th Annual World Series of Poker was crowned at the end of Day 2 as Chad Holloway came from behind to take down Allan Kwong’s big stack in Event #1 of Casino Employees NL Hold’em at the Rio, Las Vegas.

Kwong who finished second was leading the final five for a good part of the day but Holloway, Senior Editor of a Poker News Website revered roles from reporting to playing and won more than $84,000 for his first place finish. 

The Event # 1 has drawn a better response from last time with 898 entries compared to last years 732. The prize pool was inflated to more than $400,000 and payouts to the top 90 finishers. It is the 17th time that this event has been included in WSOP.

Event #2 of $5K NL Hold’em/8 Handed was trimmed to 28 players with Rafal Michalowski in the lead with 632,000 chips. Markus Gonzalves was second with around 500,000 chips and Trevor Pope was close behind with 465,000.

As Day 3 starts tomorrow, another WSOP bracelet will be awarded and a new champion will be crowned. Event #3 is also underway with 660 poker players still in the hunt in the $1K NL Hold’em Event.
