jakub-michalak-won-ispt-at-wembley-thumbInternational Stadiums Poker Tour (ISPT) Main Event concluded on Thursday with the emergence of a new champion, Jakub Michalak. He is being noticed for his upbeat game on day four of the event when he eliminated world famous poker player and a very strong contender Ole Schemion. This polish player is a known name in online poker gaming world and is amongst the top 50 online poker players. After winning the title Michalak admitted that luck favored him when he won two huge pots against the final day chip leader Pete Linton. But from then on his poker skills and knowledge helped him to win the title.

The players were talking about breaking a deal between themselves since Tuesday evening. And finally agreeing on who will take how much. Afterwards the remaining six came to a conclusion to leave €200,000 for the winner of the event. The unsuccessful event had more than €600,000 in overlay.

As the game resumed, the chip leader on the final day lost a huge hand against the champion and it made Linton’s game a little shady. The first elimination of the game came when Gwendoline Janot got eliminated by Michalak after losing a huge hand against Xavier el Fassy. French Poker pro Alban Juen finished at fifth place as he got eliminated by Linton. After eliminating Juen, Linton got engaged in a huge hand against the titleholder which proved to be his final hand on the final table. Nick Hicks, who was been not into much of the action on the final table, finally had to made an exit at third place. After elimination of four of the six finalists, it came to Michalak and el Fassy to battle it out for the title. El Fassy went into the battle heads up with almost 1/8th of Michalak’s chip stack. The champion wrapped it up fast and El Fassy finished as the runner up.

ISPT created a huge hype last year when its organizers announced the tournament. They quoted at that time that they are expecting atleast 30,000 players to participate in it. But to their disappointment, only 761 players turned up and they faced huge losses. Maybe in its next season ISPT will be able to attract more players.
