A huge cheer went off in the Amazon room at the Rio All Suites Hotel and Casino as Jason Duval added a first time WSOP Bracelet to his repertoire and made it ‘lucky seven’ for Canada at the 2013 WSOP. The cheer-leading squad in the room comprised of Canadian poker players including Jonathan Duhamel and Marc-Andre Ladouceur.
Duval defeated Majid Yahyaei in heads up action to win event 28, $1500 NL Hold’em overcoming a field of 2115 players and getting $521,202 for his top spot. He also marked the seventh WSOP bracelet for his country Canada. This is the best haul by the North American Nation in the WSOP considering it is less than halfway. Other players finishing ITM included Joe Cada, Phil Collins, Eric Baldwin and TJ Cloutier.
In Event 29, $5K, H.O.R.S.E Tom Schneider eyes another WSOP Bracelet this year as he leads the last 4 players with a chip stack of 2,500,000. Schneider is looking to win his 4th gold bracelet ever and his second this year to double on his Event 15 win earlier last week. Greg Mueller is also in the contention to win another bracelet for Canada though he is the smallest stack amongst the four.
