APPT Macau 2013: Thomas Yip in Lead; 168 Players Survived to See Day 2

APPT Macau Thomaz YipDay 1b of 2013 Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Macau concluded on Thursday. Total number of players who showed up for the second flight of Day 1 was 204, making it a decent 388 entries for the event. After an arduous day of poker which consisted of seven levels, Thomaz Yip of Hong Kong emerged as the chip leader with maximum numbers of chips (133,500) in his stack. Two other players who ended their day with chips more than 100,000 are Bjorn Li and Yan Chiu. Both of these players were at their best towards the end of the day.

Local Poker boy Alex Niu, Team PokerStars pro Bryan Huang and Jeff Rossiter, who finished at second place in GuangDong Ltd Asia Million (GDAM) Main Event were some of the famous players who showed up on Day 1b. Unfortunately none of them survived and got busted before the day ended. Some of the renowned poker players which will come back on Day 2 are Jay Tan, Didier Guerin, Emanuel Seal, Bawod Hyunshik Yun, Lacey Jones, Jordan Westmorland and Team PokerStars pro, Vivian Im.

As we have informed you earlier, the buy-in for the 2013 APPT Macau main event was HK$25,000. And as it generated a huge prize pool, the money reserved for the winner is HK$8,656,280. 48 top players will be awarded with cash and all the finalists will get atleast HK$173,180. On Day two, 170 of remaining players will return to battle it out for the title.
