GPI: Paul Volpe and Jason Mercier are Still on the Top Spots

Paul vGPI Player of the Year

There is not a single change from what we have seen in the list of top ten of Global Poker Index (GPI) Player of the Year. Paul Volpe is still holding his number one position and this week he added some points to his last week’s score by finishing eighth in $10,000 2-7 Lowball event at World Series of Poker (WSOP). The prize money ($22,399) which Volpe won in this event is his highest WSOP career winning. Steven Silverman is still at number two position and Ole Schemion is rounding up the top three of Top Ten.

Jason Mercier continues to lead the top 300 players for one more week. He maintained his good run and no other player performed miraculously to replace Mercier from the top spot. There is just a little movement at the bottom of top ten without any new player breaking into it. Philipp Gruissem, Daniel Negreanu, Mike Watson and Steve O’Dwyer are the top five as they were last week.

The only change in the top ten list of Player of the week happened for eighth position. Paul Volpe has climbed one place to snatch number eight position from Bertrand Grospellier. As a result the later has slipped to ninth place.

There is a big disappointment for poker lovers as poker’s Tiger Wood, Phil Ivey continued to fall. Last week he has slipped 56 places. Ivey has failed to create any magic in the ongoing WSOP.
