Satrya Teja leads ACOP Main Event after Day 1b

ACOPThe Pokerstars LIVE at the City of Dreams came alive with the Asia Championship of Poker(ACOP) Main Event entering Day 1b. Indonesian  Satrya Teja was in chip lead as the second of the two Day 1 flights came to an end with a total of 166 players left from the 203 starting field. 

The HK$ 100,000 Main event of ACOP saw 93 players on Day 1a and another 110 on Day 1b. While 77 players remained from Day 1a, another 89 joined them from Day 1b to leave a combined poker force of 166 players vying for the top prize of HK $4,752,000. 

While players from across the world have turned up for the coveted Asia Pacific Poker Tournament (APPT) Event, Asians continue to dominate the field. While Teja sits atop Day 1b with 83,300 chips, he is followed by United Kingdom’s Praz Bansi (79,950), Thailand’s Chane Kampanatsanyakorn (78,900), Japan’s Kumimaro Kojo (77,350), and China’s Chongxian Yang (75,000) forming the top five chip stacks.

Indian players who will commence action on Day 2 later on Wednesday include Bobbe Suri (47,750), Aditya Sushant (31,750) and ACOP Event 3 champion – Apoorva Goel (15,550). While Goel won India its first ACOP Title just last week, it waits to be seen how the Indian contingent does at the Main event. Other poker players still in contention for the title include Celina Lin, Raymond Wu, Lee Nelson and Mervin Chan
