Biography

Michiel BrummelhuisMichiel Brummelhuis, the Dutch poker player is one of the short stack holders out of the nine players who are going to play in the November Nine Main Event Final Table. Born & brought up in Amsterdam, Brummelhuis got to know about poker in 2003 when he was in his 20s. As told by his friends, Michiel also believed that poker could be a fair source of substantial pocket money. At that time, internet poker was so popular that people used to go to the internet cafes to play online. Soon, he also started playing online poker casually at a cafe on Pacific Poker (888poker now).

While he kept his casual poker games going, he indulged in an internet business.  Carrying out the business left very less time for his poker play. Finally, in 2012, he decided to end his internet business & devoted his whole time to online poker games. Later, he started playing live poker games at Casinos in Holland.

His live tournament career began in 2007 when he traveled to the European Poker Tour Grand Final in Monte Carlo but true fortune came to him in 2008 when he made it to the World Series of Poker and achieved his first final table. It has been almost nine years now since he is active in the international poker circuit.

Brummelhuis has established himself as one of the most successful Dutch poker players of the world who has more than $1.4 million live tournament earnings and several thousands of dollars in online tournaments, including a WCOOP title.

He was also the member of a group of young Dutch players who were sponsored for EPT Season 4. But Brummelhuis is famous among his North American poker fans for running a huge bluff against William Reynolds at the PCA, 2011.

Year 2013 seems to be quite auspicious for him as this young poker pro is going to have some memorable moment on both personal and professional level. While he has emerged as the first Dutch player to make it to the WSOP Main Event final table; he is also going to be a father. Both these news have created a lot of excitement in the Dutch poker community.

Currently, the poker pro is trying to spend his time with his family while playing few poker games in preparations for the big day in November.
