The DR Cup-Nov/Dec 2013 kicked off at the Casino Deltin Royale yesterday in great fashion with Dhaval Mudgal winning the inaugural event of 10K Freezeout(5 Lakhs guaranteed) The minimum guarantee of Rs.5 Lakhs was crossed as 84 entrants were there for this event. It is a coincidence that Mudgal was the second place finisher in this event in DR CUP in September. But this time, he took the competition to task and beat Pranav Gupta for the top prize.
The Royale Poker Room of the biggest offshore casino ship in the River Mandovi was the centre of all activity as the second DR Cup began yesterday. The first DR Cup was held in September to a huge response and the main event was won by Jasven Saigal. The plush and elite Horseshoe ship had started operations in July after many hiccups. The legacy of the popular Casino Royale(CR) Cup was carried on here as DR Cup featured a tax-free tournament for players. The first poker outing was held from Sept-28, 2013.
This Nov-Dec edition of DR Cup will next feature a 20K Freezeout event on 29th November. This will be followed by a two day Main event of 40K buyin on Nov 30 and Dec 1. The organisers have stated that no Tax Deduction at Source will be done for the winners.
