The Macau Poker Cup celebrated its 20th Edition with a record turnout at the PokerStars LIVE City of Dreams this weekend. Tightly squeezed between the schedules of the immensely popular PokerStars Carbbean Adventure(PCA) and the Aussie Millions, such huge turnouts are heartening for the Asia-Pacific poker community. The first three days of the 12-day schedule saw the completion of three side events which drew a total of 743 players and awarded HK $2,456,622 in prize money.
Amidst the action was the first side event of HK$2,000 Deepstack NLH event which had a monster line-up and Korea’s Chang Rak Choi started his MPC 20 outing in style by winning the top prize. But the prelude to the big Red Dragon Event from Thursday was the 2-day Baby Dragon Event which got 332 entrants. The HK$1 Million guarnatee event surpassed expectations by creating a prize pool of HK$1.7 Million. Bobby Zhang defeated Stephen Zhou in heads up action to take the Baby Dragon trophy and top prize of HK$340,800.
