Sumit Sapra Leads Indian charge at MPC20

Sumit Sapra is leading the Indian charge into Day 3 of the Red Dragon Event of the Macau Poker Cup(MPC) 20 as the playing field has come down from 995 to 77. The Pokerstars LIVE at the City of Dreams saw a buzzing Day 2 with lightning quick eliminations and the money bubble. With 117 places paid out and 223 taking to the felt on Day 2 at 3 PM Local time, it was a countdown to the money. 

Day 2 for India had started with 7 players still in contention. At the end of Day 2, Sameer Guliani and Sukhpreet Singh Gurudatta had painfully fallen short of the money. But Sumit Sapra, Aditya Agarwal, Sahil Aggarwal, Kunal Jain and Akash Malik are in the money and also in the top 77. Sapra will in fact start Day 3 4th in chip strength with 449,000 chips.The Indian rail is complete with Aditya ‘intervention’ Agarwal with 293,000 chips (11th in chips), Sahil ‘antilog’ Agarwal with 274,000(18th in chips), Kunal Jain with 191,000 (29th in chips) and Akash Malik with 153,000 (38th in chips).

The unprecedented leader of the day was Lei Gao with 919,000 chips who also led Day 1b. His closest rivals aren’t close enough with Zhaojun Ruan at 767,000 and Jiajun Hu with 543,000 chips. Notable eliminations during the day included APPT Seoul Champ Aaron Lim, Defending Champion Tom Alner and Day 1c Chip Leader Lante Zhang.

Other big name players making it to Day 3 include  Vivian Im(186,000 chips), Ben Wilson(110,000 chips) and Justin Chan(85,000) chips. The big HK $ 2 Million top prize and the Red Dragon Trophy are at stake as MPC 20 plays down to the Final table when play resumes in a couple of hours from now.
