Kevin Killeen is UKIPT Dublin Main Event Champion

Irish poker player Kevin Killeen reigned on home turf as he braved a field of 682 entrants to win the UK and Ireland Poker Tour(UKIPT) Dublin Main Event to record the biggest cash of his poker career. He defeated Max Silver in a topsy-turvy heads up battle, one which saw him almost hit the rail to win the top prize money of €87,700.

Silver who is a seasoned pro of the UKIPT schedule was seeking his second Dublin title and almost had Killeen crash out but the Irishman was resileitna and bounced back in style. Killeen had started the final table in chip lead and kept adding to his chip stack.  Ivan Tononi was the first to exit from the FT when he went down in 8th place followed by Larry Ryan. Doube UKIPT main Event title winner  Joeri Zandvliet  was also a part of the 8-handed final table but he had to be happy with 6th place.Robert Sturman who had defeated Ryan and had taken all of his chips also went down in 4th place.

Chris Wood wa the one reponsible for eliminating Sturman but before he could put those chips to any use, He three-bet all-in for 1,960,000 from the small blind with the . Killeen who had originally raised the hand called from the button with the . Killeen got a straight on a board of  and left him heads up with Silver.

At this point, Silver held a three to one lead which he consolidated for a while till he lost a big pot to Killeen. On the final hand of the tournament, Silver raised to 320,000 and Killeen responded with a three-bet to 825,000. Silver wet over the top to four-bet all in for around four million to which Killeen called. The players revealed their cards as:

But it wasn;t going to be Silver’s day as the board favored none with   . Kevin Killeen was thus crowned the champion of the UKIPT4 Dublin Main Event.
