2014 ANZPT Sydney: Jazz Mathers Leads Main Event Final Table

Dinesh Alt is ANZPT Sydney ChampionJazz Mathers leads the 9 player final table of the Main Event of the 2014 ANZPT Sydney with 1,837,000 chips. Day 3 saw 37 players take to the felt at the Star Casino and 28 eliminated to play down for the top prize money of $225,300. A total of 458 players had started this event and it has taken 3 grueling days to form this final table.

While Mathers leads with 1,837,000 chips, he has close competition in Nathan Sawyers (1,318,000) and Peco Stojanovski(1,167,000). Rory Young (1,124,000), Steven Zhou (1,117,000) and Josh Redhouse (994,000) are also following closely and have a fair chance of making it to the Title. Others on the FT include Brent Taunton (637,000), Oliver Gill (536,000) and Milan Gurung (283,000).

Some of the eliminations of the day included Anthony Aston (33rd), Katie Sekhas (30th), Australian Poker Hall of Famer Mel Judah (29th), Jie Gao (27th) and Daniel Neilson (22nd). Karam Bahl(14th), Robert Spano (13th), Adrian “KnightsGee” Attenborough (12th) and John Parker (11th) hit the rail painfully close to the final table. Andrew Michael was the unfortunate bubble boy as he went all in with J clubsJ hearts and ran into Mathers who held K heartsK clubs. The board didn’t help him and he exit to stop play for the day and form the FT.

But at the time of going to press, Brent Taunton(9th place), Milan Gurung (8th place), Nathan Sawyers(7th place) and Oliver Gill(6th place) had been eliminated. Currently, Peco Stojanovski has a huge lead while Jazz Mathers is in second place.
