The first WSOP Gold Bracelet for 2014 is captured by Roland Reparejo in Event #1: $500 Casino Employees No-Limit Hold’em in Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas. Reparejo only took six hands to claim the bracelet and the first place prize of $82,835. This event was supposed to be a two-day event but stretched into Day 3 with only two players, Roland Reparejo and Corey Emery, vying for the top spot and the coveted WSOP (World Series of Poker) bracelet.

Day 1 started with 876 entries which trimmed down to 51 who made it through Day 2. A further 24 players were busted in three hours with only 27 players remaining. Aaron Henderson was the chip leader at this point. However in another few hours the final table was set with Corey Emery emerging the chip leader and Henderson already busted. Emery was also the start of the day chip leader.

On the fifth hand of the final table, Kevin Cheim raised the button on  but lost it to John Taylor’s. David Luttegeb, Marcin Sobczak and Brian Wong soon followed. Emery busted Oliver Doremus in Hand #182 and Charles Nguyen in Hand #187. This left Emery and Reparejo, the last two men standing.

Roland Reparejo returned on Day 3 with 1,795,000 chips against Corey Emery who has a stack of 735,000 chips. In the final hand, Reparejo limped on the button with  and Emery moved all in with. Reparejo called. The dealer dealt the flop, turn, and river and reached a final board reading. Reparejo won and Emery was in second place with $51,037.
