GPI Rankings :Seiver reaches #2; Huge jump by Gruissem and Chidwick

Winning the 5K PLO event at EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo, placing 21st at WPT world Champion and a runner-up finish in EPT High Roller event propelled Scott Seiver to #2 spot at the Global Poker Index (GPI) Rankings gpithis week. Ole Schemion remains at the top for the third consecutive week. Schemion was also crowed EPT Season 10 Player of the Year and added another 47 points to his already impressive GPI score (4,054.34).

Each week, the Global Poker Index (GPI) releases a list of the top 300 tournament poker players in the world using a formula that takes a player’s results over six half-year periods. The GPI also ranks the top performers of the year over two six-month periods. The GPI rankings released every Thursday rank the top 300 players as well maintain a Player of the Year Leader board also.

Former world #2 Philipp Gruissem entered the Top 10 this week at #3 climbing an impressive 35 spots. He beat Sceiver to the first place at the EPT High Roller event. Another new entrant to Top 10 this week is UK star Stephen Chidwick at #10, rising 14 spots. This is Chidwick’s career best score. Falling out of Top 10 by 4 spots each are Jonathan Duhamel and Joseph Serock, who are now ranked at #13 and #14 respectively.

Cashing on the success at the EPT Grand Final Festival, US pro Dani Stern climbed 118 places to be at #83 and defending GPI National Ireland Player of the Year Dermot Blain moved 110 spots to #69. Another big mover is #5 on the GPI Player of the Decade – John Juanda, who climbed 99 spots to be ranked at #184.

Moving down this week is Team PokerStarsPro Marcel Luske who fell 35 spots to land at #174. The Flying Dutchman can contribute this to lack of live tournament participation. Another Dutch player Mateusz Moolhuizen fell 69 spots to rank at #259.
