In what turned out to be a tough heads up contest between two poker greats, Ted Forrest and Phil Helmuth saw the latter denied a piece of history at the Event #7: $1500 Seven Card Razz of the 2014 World Series of Poker(WSOP) today. While the ‘Poker Brat’ fell short of a record 14th WSOP Bracelet, Forrest also wrote the record books of sorts by winning a 6th Gold Bracelet. Capturing the Event 7 after a long battle with Helmuth which extended way into Day 3, Forrest won $121,196 and joined the club of Double Razz Bracelet Winners.

Event 7 had started with 352 players vying for the title creating a prize pool of $475,200. At the end of 3 days, it was two Razz specialists looking to mark their supremacy in the Event. Both Helmuth and Forrest were looking for a second Razz title to join the elite club of Double Bracelet Winners in Seven Card Razz including poker pros like Huck Seed, Gary “Bones” Berland, and Mike Hart.

The top 40 finishers made the money, including the likes of 1986 world champion Berry Johnston (39th), Matthew Waxman (19th), and 1996 world champion Huck Seed (12th).
