Olivier Busquet defeated Daniel Colman and an elite poker field to win the European Poker Tour(EPT) Super High Roller Event for €896,434 here yesterday at the Casino Barcelona. The record breaking field for the €50,000 buyin event swelled to 77 entries from last times 64 and fetaured the biggest names from the poker world. Colman who had an amazing run this year having won the WSOP Big Drop for One drop defeating Daniel Negreanu fell short but still notched a fantastic second place finish.

Going by the stats, it seemed like it was Busquet’s day with luck favoring him. Not only did he make two remarkable comeback’s- first against Sven Reichardt’s Pocket Kings and then against Dan Shak but also kept on hitting his Pocket pairs to get big pots and chip up. Busquet who is a commentator for televised poker won the final hand against the short stacked Colman with hqhj hitting his top pair on the turn to win the hand and the event. This marked the biggest live poker winnings for Busquet and catapulted his tournament earnings to $5.9 Million.
