The India Poker Championship (IPC) has released the entire schedule of events for the 2015 season. The IPC returns to Goa from 21-25 January to host a 5 day series at the Deltin Royale Poker room on board Casino Deltin Royale in Panjim, Goa. There will be a total of 6 events including a Mega Satellite with two full weekend packages on offer as well as 4 side events with buy-ins ranging from 5,000 to 12,000. The highlight of the weekend is the 30,000 Main Event with a 20 lac guaranteed prize pool set to take place on 24-25 January. There are guarantees in place for the 5,000 and 10,000 events as well.

Speaking about the event schedule, IPC Director Peter Abraham said, “The idea is to provide players something familiar from our past events hence the schedule is not dramatically different. What we have added is one extra event on Sunday evening because we expect more players to stay back considering that Monday is a holiday due to Republic Day. We do not expect to deviate too much from this format even for our future events.”

Speaking of which, the IPC has announced that they intend to host 6 more events after their January edition. The tentative dates given are as follows:-

  • 21-25 January
  • 04-08 March
  • 01-05 April
  • 03-07 June
  • 12-16 August
  • 30 September – 04 October
  • 02-06 December – MAIN EVENT*

The organizers have said that while this is expected to be more or less the final poker tournament schedule, any change will be communicated at least a month in advance to players.

“As usual we will end the year in a big way with the IPC Main Event where we will crown the India Poker Champion of 2015-16”, said Rajeev Kanjani of the IPC. Regarding the India Player of the Year standings, Kanjani confirmed its restart saying,”The IPOY has always been fiercely contested by the players and we expect this year’s race to be no different with a lot of the regulars and the new entrants participating in IPC’s year long schedule of events.”
