2015 World Series of Poker to feature an exclusive online bracelet event; full schedule released

Caesars Entertainment yesterday released the full and detailed scheduled of the 46th edition of World Series of Poker (WSOP) to be played at Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. World’s largest poker tournament featuring a record 68 bracelet events will kick off on 27th May and will culminate with the $10,000 Main Event forming the final table on 14th July.

WSOP has introduced a range of new events in terms of buy-ins, formats and variants but the $1,000 WSOP.com Online No-Limit Hold’em event has caught every poker lover by surprise. Eyeing the craze for online poker across the globe, WSOP officials decided to treat its patrons by an exclusive event on 2nd July wherein thousands of online poker enthusiasts will play down to the last 2. The winner of this event will be crowned in the live heads-up match on 3rd July.

Including this online event, 2015 WSOP will host 11 new events. Below is the list of new events:

Event #5  $565 Colossus No-Limit Hold’em (May 29-June 2)
Event #6  $1,000 Hyper No-Limit Hold’em (May 31-June 1)
Event #42  $1,500 Extended Play No-Limit Hold’em (June 20-23)
Event #43  $1,000 Super Seniors No-Limit Hold’em (June 21-23)
Event #53  $5,000 Turbo No-Limit Hold’em (June 26-28)
Event #55  $1,500 DraftKings 50/50 NL Hold’em (June 27-29)
Event #60  $25,000 High Roller 8-handed PLO (June 29-July 2)
Event #62  $1,500 Bounty No-Limit Hold’em (July 1-3)
Event #64  $1,000 WSOP.com Online NL Hold’em (July 2-3)
Event #65  $777 Lucky 7’s No-Limit Hold’em (July 3-5)
Event #67  $10,000 Dealer’s Choice (July 3-5)

What’s New at 2015 WSOP:

After announcing a change in prize payouts for the Main Event where-in the $1 million top prize has been dropped for paying the Top 1000 places, WSOP announced another major change in form of hike in the starting chips. All the events that have a buy-in under $10,000 will start with almost 66% more chips than the previous year.

Event 5 and Event 65 are the two sub-$1,000 buy-in events this year. WSOP organizing body is expecting the biggest field of over 10,000 players in the $565 Colossus NLHE which boasts of $5,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.

WSOP is introducing an exclusive event – $1,000 Super Seniors No-Limit Hold’em for players aged 65 or more this year. Event 55 – $1,500 DraftKings 50/50 which is sponsored by The DraftKings will pay to half of the field.  Event 6 and Event 53 will be the fast-paced events to be completed in 2 days only while Event 42 – $1,500 Extended Play NLHE will have a slower gameplay with each level of 90 minutes.

Event 67 – $10,000 Dealers Choice will feature 19 poker variants which will be a record as the most number of variants in a single WSOP event.
