Norberto Korn wins ACOP Platinum Series VII Main Event

The first event of 2015 – the ACOP Platinum Series VII has entered the record books after Argentina’s Norberto Korn won the title recently at PokerStars LIVE casino in the City of Dreams Macau. The HK$5,000 ACOP Platinum Series Main Event featured a HK$500,000 guaranteed prize pool which was easily smashed when 277 players took to the tables. This created a prize pool of HK$1,249,408 which was shared among the top 32 players with the top prize at HK$296,908. Among the 9 players who make it to the final table, Australian pro Daniel Laidlaw had the chip lead with a stack of 430,000.

The final table saw the first elimination of Iran’s Mohyeddin Amadezyabary, followed by China’s Suyu Teng (8th) and Hui Wang (7th). Then it was the turn of Japan’s Hiroyuki Tanaka and Jixue Yin. The start of final table chip leader Daniel Laidlaw was the next player to hit the rail, while Quiren Qin fell in 3rd place to usher in heads-up play between Minggeng Bo and Argentina’s Norbeto Korn. There was a tough battle between the two with Korn ultimately taking the crown of champion of the ACOP Platinum Series VII Main Event.

Though the title was taken away by an Argentinian player but Chinese players dominated in ACOP Platinum Series VII. Of the total six events (including the main event), Yang Shen won the HK$10,000 NLH tournament while Lante Zhang and Stephen Zhou won the $2,500 KO Bounty and $1,000 Deepstack PLO events.

The next event to be held at PokerStars LIVE Macau is the Macau Poker Cup 22 which is scheduled to take place from February 27th to March 15th.
