Macau Poker Cup: Rajeev Raut finishes 4th in $2,000 Deepstack PLO event

Rajeev-Raut-Macau-Poker-CupThe Rockets Poker Room famed Rajeev Raut won HK $20,100 making a valiant 4th place finish in the $2,000 Deepstack PLO event of Macau Poker Cup yesterday. Philip Muscarello of Hong Kong won the tournament taking home HK $58,100.

Rajeev’s 4th place finish is a big boost to the whole Indian contingent playing in Macau Poker Cup. Rajeev was playing with an average stack of 90,000 till the bubble burst but soon he doubled up to acquire the 3rd biggest chip stack in the Final 14. With few good hands he was maintaining his chip counts but unfortunately a big blow pushed him down to below the average level. However, Rajeev continued his style of Omaha and doubled up just before landing up on the final table.

Adda52 Team Spades Pro Kunal Patni was there in the poker room railing Rajeev. Meanwhile, Kunal started a thread in a Facebook group posting all the updates on Rajeev’s gameplay and his position. Indian poker players sitting back in the country gathered in this thread sending best wishes for Rajeev to ship this tournament. This was going to be a big moment for Indian poker community and everybody was excited to know the live results as Kunal kept posting the updates.

Rajeev chips counts kept fluctuating in the final table battle but the most important part was he didn’t loose the momentum. After a few eliminations, the top 6 kept vying to reach an invincible chip count. Rajeev was the only player to survive without a Re-buy so far. As the game intensified and two more players got eliminated, all 4 survivors were left with equal stacks. Rajeev got eliminated in the 4th place and left the table with HK $20,100.

Rajeev has definitely upped the expectations of Indian poker community from the players out there in Macau. OPN India congratulates Rajeev Raut for this feat and thanks Team Spades Pro Kunal Patni for the live updates.
