2015 Asia Championship of Poker

Starting October 30, Asia Championship of Poker will take the center stage at the ‘PokerStars LIVE Macau’ poker room. There are 15 ‘ACOP Title Events’ at hand – with 13 of them counting towards APOY – which have buy-ins ranging from HK$2,500 to HK$500,000.  As with previous years, each of those winners will receive one of the prestigious ‘Spadie’ trophies.

The HK$100,000 Main Event which comes with a HK$15 million prize pool guarantee will be played starting November 9. The main event champion will be awarded the coveted Gold Spadie trophy.

“The support and enthusiasm has been there since Day 1 in the Asia Pacific but the ACOP has really caught the eye of poker players globally after the huge success from last year.” said APPT President Danny McDonagh.  “The series has seen a massive growth during its three-year run so far.  The prize money in 2014 more than doubled the previous year’s totals.  We fully expect that positive trend to continue as the ACOP enters its fourth year.”

The ACOP has become a must-play event on the international poker circuit.  Last year, the biggest names in poker made the trip to Macau including Team PokerStars Pros Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier, Liv Boeree, Isaac Haxton, Eugene Katchalov, Randy ‘nanonoko’ Lew; as well as Phil Ivey, Dan Colman, Dan Smith, and Steve O’Dwyer who won HK$14,470,400 (USD $1.8m) after capturing the Super High Roller title.
