DPT Jan’16 Day 3: Rishabh Jhunjhunwala leads the 33 remaining players in 100K Main Event

After the 5K Warm Up and 10K Satellite, it was time for the much-awaited 100K Main Event on Saturday which brings 1 Crore in guaranteed prize. 102 players ponied up Rs 1 Lac to join this poker battle and only 33 of them could survive for the Day 2 action. The remaining players led by Rishabh Jhunjhunwala (218,300) will return today at 3PM IST to play down to the winner. Sarad Rao is the another player which chips over 200,000.

Most of the Indian pros including Amit Jain, Kunal Patni, Madan Kumar, Adiya Sushant, Dhaval Mudgal, Shravan Chhabria, Jasven Saigal, Kavish Kukreja and several other notable players as in Raghav Bansal, Akash Malik, Archit Khandelwal, Amit Ajwani, Romit Advani, Sujith S, Jaideep Sazwan, Sarad Rao, Kanishka Kapoor played the 100K Main event.

The action remained slow in first 4 levels as the structure was deep with 30,000 starting stack at blinds 50/100 and blind interval of 45 minutes. Amit Jain, Zavran Tumboli, Vinod Meglamani Sujith S, Amit Ajwani were among the players eliminated before the 2nd break. Meanwhile Madan Kumar, Niraj Yadav, Akash Malik, Praveen Dwarkanath, Jay Satya were among the players stacking up.

The game intensified once the field was down to 50 players as the average stack surged above 60,000. Many short-stacked players like Kuldeep, Vinay, Vidwat Shetty and Vikram Kumar got eliminated in the mid-levels of play.

Player made all efforts to survive for the Day 2 when the game reached last 2 levels. Amil Gulati, Muskan Sethi, Kunal Panti, Sidhart Sighvi were among the players eliminated in this period. At the end of day’s play 33 players remained for the Day 2 action. Today, the winner of the 1 Crore GTD Main Event will be crowned. Another tournament – 10K NLH Hangover will be played today starting 7PM.
