David Peters, Dan Smith and Ali Fazeli Win Aria High Rollers, William Hill Gets Approval for e-Sports Betting in Nevada

The High Roller season at the Aria Poker Room in Las Vegas is in full swing and the past weekend saw many big names in poker battling it out for big bucks. David Peters however had a great time, as he won the $50,000 Aria Super High Roller 13, earning $511,970. The event drew a total of 30 entries creating a $1,440,000 prize pool. At the $25,000 Aria High Roller 45, it was Ali Fazeli who emerged champion to win $403,200 from the prize pool of $960,000 created by 40 runners in the tournament. Marchese finished in the third place for $134,400, with Seidel making it to 6th place finish for $48,000. The next event was the $25,000 Aria High Roller 46, which was taken down by Dan Smith topped for $312,000, while Peters ended-up runner-up for $168,480. The event drew 26 entries, taking up the prize pool upto $624,000.

William Hill Licensed to Run eSports Betting in Nevada

The e-Sports industry continues to grow worldwide and has a fast-growing market in the US. Keeping this in view, William Hill, UK’s largest bookmaker has tied up with Downtown Grand, Las Vegas to offer e-Sports betting in the state of Nevada. With this partnership with Downtown Grand, William Hill has become first gaming operating in Nevada to be given approval for running eSports betting.

Seth Schorr, the chairman of the Downtown Grand Casino and CEO of the Fifth Street Gaming said that both William Hill and Downtown Grand were happy as the Gaming Commission supported their initiative to ride upon a new gaming revenue stream to Nevada. Schorr said that Downtown Grand had worked very hard last year to convert its venue into a premier eSports hub and this partnership with William Hill will further enable the company to establish its reputation in the eSports market.
