WPTN Cambodia: India’s Manoj Pentakota Leads the Main Event Final 12; Sumit Sapra and Deepak Raina Shine at Side Events

The World Poker Tour National (WPTN) Cambodia is in full swing at Queenco Hotel & Casino in Sihanoukville, Cambodia with some Indian poker players making impression at the series. According to the latest update, the $1,485 Main Event of WPTN Cambodia has come down to 12 players. India’s Manoj Pentakota, who grabbed headlines by taking the early chip lead on the first day of the $1,485 Main Event, leads the 12 finalists of the main event with 569,000 in chips . Following him on the 2nd spot is  the French poker pro Gonzva Benjamin with 530,000 in chips. The man who holds 3rd position among the final 12 is Nguyen Chi Thinh from Vietnam. He has 424,000 in chips.wpt 12

Among other Indian players who impressed and made it to the final 12 of the $1,485 Main Event include Nitin Jain, Kalyan Chakravarthy and Charu Vikram Kaushik- all well-known names in Indian poker circuit. With our 4 players being among the final 12 of the Main event, we can expect to see the WPT trophy coming back home this time.

Sumit Sapra and Adda52 Qualifier Deepak Raina Shine in Side Events

Nearly 20 well-known players from Indian are taking shot at the World Poker Tour National (WPTN), Cambodia. While 4 Indian players (Nitin Jain, Kalyan Chakravarthy and Charu Vikram Kaushik) have already made it to the final 12 of the $1,485 Main Event, India’s Sumit Sapra and Deepak Raina have won  the side events.

Sumit Sapra shipped the $550 PLO Deepstack Event for $5,530 (Rs. 3.77 Lakhs, beating Phanindra Akkina in heads-up match, while Deepak Raina (orionn7), who won the ticket to WPTN Cambodia via online satellites on Adda52.com, took down the No Limit Hold`em Super Knockout ($250/Bounty) event to earn $3,360 (Rs. 2.29 Lakhs). Another Adda52 qualifier who impressed was Sagar Choudhary (sagarpupul). He  crossed Day 1 and made into top 42 on Day 2 of the main event of the World Poker Tour National, Cambodia.

Th final 12 of $1,485 Main Event will be resuming the action at Queenco Hotel & Casino today. With 4 Indian players already among the final 12,  it would be interesting to see if our boys can bring the WTP Trophy back home.
