Raghav Bansal Chops HK$50,000 NLH for Rs. 92 Lacs;JP Kelly Tops Day 1A of Red Dragon

Macau Poker Cup (MPC) 26 is in full swing in Macau with the HK$15,000 Red Dragon Main Event is running. On Day 1A of Red Dragon, UK`s JP Kelly was leading 86 survivors with 247,300 in chips. The big news for Indian poker fans and players is the Event 12- HK$50,000 NLH that saw two Indian players- Raghav Bansal and Shashank Rathi making it to the final table. Rathi finished in 3rd place and Bansal made a heads-up deal with the winner Sparrow Cheung for HK$1,067,500 (Rs. 92.20 Lacs). The HK$50,000 NLH attracted a total of 101 runners, creating HK$4,604,590 in the prize pool. 34 players entered Day 2 with Raghav Bansal and Shashank Rathi making it to the final table. Rathi fought hard but he got eliminated in the 3rd place, taking home HK$552,600. After his fellow Rathi hit the rail, Bansal entered heads-up with Sparrow Cheung. Both players struck a deal and finally, Bansal went out in 2nd place with Cheung taking home the title as well as the $981,500 in the prize. The event ended with the top 12 players sharing from a whopping prize pool of HK$4,604,590.

Indian contingent at Red Dragon Main Event – Day 1A

The Red Dragon Main Event is underway with UK`s JP Kelly beginning as the chip lead among the 86 survivors with 247,300 in chips. The other players close to him include China`s Dongli Shen (188,300), Lingling Nie (164,300), He Liu (163,500); and Russia`s Artem Lobus (166,600).

A large Indian contingent is competing at the series, including the Adda52 Pros Nikita Luther, & Kunal Patni, and other notable players from India, like Romit Advani, Sahil Chutani, Nikhil Dangayach, Nageshwara Alaparthy, Kunal Jain, etc. They joined the action on Day 1A, but none of them was able to make it through the day. Other notable poker pros and players who could not make it through the day included the Asia Player of the Year Jack Wu, Chen An Lin, and Nick Wong.
