PokerStars Festival Manila 2017: Siddarth Singhvi Wins NLHE Bubble Rush ; Australia’s Peter Plater Claims High Roller with Shot Clock Title

Team India continues to impress the poker world with deep runs and wins at the first-ever PokerStars Festival Manila 2017. This time, it was India’s well-known poker player Siddarth Singhvi who became the sixth title holder at the series by taking down the ₱16,500 No-Limit Hold’em – Bubble Rush event, which attracted the 66-entry field. On the schedule, the series also featured a ₱215,000 High Roller with Shot Clock, the highest buy-in event which was won by the Australian player Peter Plater who outlasted the 47-entry field to pocket a huge ₱3,100,000for his 1st place finish. It was his first and biggest win at the inaugural PokerStars Festival Manila.

₱16,500 No-Limit Hold’em – Bubble Rush

The NLHE Bubble Rush attracted a total of 66 runners, taking prize pool to ₱960,300. Outlasting them all was India’s ace player Siddarth Singhvi who took down the title to double his birthday celebrations. In heads-up battle, Singhvi beat Indonesia’s Anton Widjaya to earn a massive ₱280,000 for his efforts.

Singhvi is a well-known on Indian and Asian circuits. He grabbed big headlines when he finished runner-up in High Roller at 2015 India Poker Championship (IPC), winning his career’s best live cash of INR 1,223,000. Before his big win in the ₱16,500 No-Limit Hold’em – Bubble Rush at the ongoing PokerStars Festival Manila 2017, he has made several deep runs and cashes across live poker tournaments happening in Manila, Macao and Goa.

₱215,000 High Roller with Shot Clock

The ₱215,000 High Roller drew a total of 47 entrants taking the prize pool to ₱9,118,000. Outlasting them was the 37-year-old Australian Peter Plater to take down the first-place prize of ₱3,100,000.

The first to exit at the final table of final 6 was Timofey Asmolov followed by Jun Obara who got eliminated in fifth place. The next man to go out was Obara’s fellow countryman Yo Seb Rhee. Yet another casualty came in Hermann Lee. Finally, the heads-up battle took place between Sathesh Kumar Muthu and Plater with both having almost the equal stacks. Eventually, Plater got Muthu all in with an over pair and won the title with a runner-runner straight on the board.
