Philipp Gruissem Becomes Latest Partypoker Team Pro

Partypoker continues to add the new recruits to its roaster of sponsored pros. Following the recent signing of pros-Kristen Bicknel, Dzmitry Urbanovich, and Richard Dubini, the poker site has signed up Philipp Gruissem, a German professional poker player, who began playing live poker 9 years ago and has been competing at the highest level ever since. He has won several high rollers and super high roller titles including his biggest live tournament cash, the 2014 Monte Carlo €25,000 High Roller event, where he banked $1,378,059. Philipp also won the same event in 2017 for about $530,000.

This means that in addition to sponsoring Germany’s ‘All-Time Money List’ winner Fedor Holz, partypoker has now signed up 7th highest earner from Germany whose live tournament earnings stand at over $11 million.

Philipp said, “I feel great about joining partypoker! They are now bringing healthy competition back into the market and partypoker has a new and fresh vibe that will grow our poker community.”

Commenting on this development, partypoker Managing Director Tom Waters said, “I am honoured that Philipp has agreed to join us at partypoker. Philipp is such a well-respected player both in the German and global poker community that he is a perfect fit to join the team. He also has a great character and experience and will bring something a little different to the team.”

Back in 2014, the 30-year-old Philippis co-founded Raising for Effective Giving (REG) with his fellow poker pros- Igor Kurganov and Liv Boeree. The idea is to help less privileged people living in the developing world through contributions coming from the professional poker players. Currently, there are more than 87 members donating about 2% of their income to REG charities.
