The Aussie Millions is returning to the Crown Casino in Melbourne tomorrow on 17th January. A large number of poker players is expected to show up for the events in Australia.
Last year was not good so far as the big event didn’t run well. While the Interactive Gambling Amendment Bill was passed and the online poker rooms banned last year, this does not seem to affect the mood of the organizers of the Aussie Millions. In fact, they are expecting a bigger participation this year and believe that the online ban is not going to affect much.
Although the $250K Challenge is off the table, the much-awaited series still includes the $100K Challenge, the $50K Challenge, and the $25K Challenge. Last year saw a decrease in players showing up for the super-high rollers. The well-known Phil Ivey also missed the action last year but is expected to get into the mix this time. In fact, he has some sweet memories of Melbourne as he took down the $250K SHR 3 times in the past for the total of $7.35 million.
Apart from the High Rollers events, poker players would be able to play the $10,600 Main Event with seven-figure prizes up for grabs. Last year, it was Shurane Vijayaram who took down the Main Event title. He won a seat to the event via an online satellite at a buy-in of $130.
Aussie Millions has something to offer for almost all mixed-game players with several other exciting events on its schedule, including Pot-Limit Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, NLHE/PLO Mix, 8-game and H.O.R.S.E events with buy-ins ranging from $1,150 to $5,000. Check out the schedule below:
