Toby Lewis Wins Aussie Millions Main Event; Three More Brazilian Players Join PartyPoker

Toby Lewis from the UK won the Aussie Millions Main Event this weekend, beating a record field of 800 entries, which created a gargantuan A$8,000,000 prize pool. Lewis defeated Stefan Huber in the heads-up battle to claim the title along with the A$1,458,198 (USD $1,178,513) first prize. This victory was the biggest score of his career. Lewis entered the seven-handed final table as the chip leader and he was one of the best MTT players among the remaining ones, with the sole American Michael Del Vecchio being the next most accomplished with $1,495,234 in total live earnings and a World Poker Tour title to his name.

During 3-handed play, Lewis having the chip lead reached a deal with Stefan Huber and Espen Solaas. The play resumed and Solaas went out in third place leaving Huber and Lewis in heads-up to battle it out for the title. The heads-up play lasted only for 30 minutes and the winner was found in Lewis.

On the last hand of the tournament, Huber opened with As-8d and Lewis quickly called with Qd-10d. The board ran out Qh-8h-Qs-7s-5s where Lewis took down the coveted title for A$1,458,198.

Meanwhile, Indians were also in attendance. India’s Paawan Bansal managing to make Day 3 of the event. He eventually finished 77th for A$15,000 (INR 7,67,668).

Three More Brazilian Poker Players Join PartyPoker’s Pro Team

PartyPoker continues to expand its pro team. Recently, they added three players to their sponsored pro team. Heading the recruits in terms of live winnings is Renato Nomura, who is currently sitting on 120th in his country rankings with $211,503 in live tournament earnings.

Commenting on his new sponsorship deal, Renato Nomura stated:“I am really looking forward to representing the PartyPoker brand. There’s a lot of great players in our country and competition is pretty fierce so I am thrilled to have been chosen to join the new online team.”

The second player to join PartyPoker is none other than Lui Martins, who now boasts $508,337 in online earnings. Martins has also enjoyed success in the live tournaments too, and in 2016 he finished 4th at the WSOP International Circuit São Paulo Main Event to win $79,457 payday.fatima

Finally, Dayane de Fatima Kotoviezy (photo) is the latest one to complete the line up of new Brazilians joining PartyPoker. She is a well-known female poker pro and a coach at Brazil’s Massari Poker School, who has secured a BSOP Ladies Event title last year.

PartyPoker’s number of sponsored pros from Brazil has reached six now. The poker site already includes Joao Simao, Luiza Simao and Bruno Gagliasso.
