Adda52 Team Pro Nikita Luther Enters Day 3 of WSOP $3,000 NLH Event

The 2018 World Series of Poker has completed its first month with lots of success stories building up hope for the budding poker enthusiasts all over the world. Among them are Indian names, such as Aditya Agarwal, Paawan Bansal, Raghav Bansal and a few others, who have done remarkably well in the ongoing series. Adding zing to this male-dominated list of Indian players is one female name – Nikita Luther, who has made it to the Day 3 of the 2018 WSOP $3,000 NLH Event.

Adda52 Team Pro Luther registered for Event #54: Big Blind Antes $3,000 NLHE to become one among a total field of 1,020 entries. The pool prize generated with these entries was over $2.7 million, which is to be paid out to the top 153 players. Muskan Sethi, the other Indian female poker player, and recently-appointed PokerStars Team Pro, accompanied Luther into Day 2 of the event.

However, Sethi hasn’t had her best time and exited without cashing the event. She got busted out of this event before the bubble. On the other hand, Luther entered the Day 3 as one among the highest chip stacks. And, to achieve this, she faced a tough battle from the previous bracelet winners, including the previous WSOP Main Event champions – Scotty Nguyen and Qui Nguyen.

By the end of the Day 2 of this event, the Indian female pro-Luther had amassed 392,000 in chips. With a huge stack of 2,725,000 chips, Jonathan Abdellatif ended the day in style as the chip leader. In tomorrow’s game, Luther has to really prove her mettle as she will be facing a very tough field. However, looking at her poker skills, hopes for a WSOP gold bracelet for India are obviously high.

The chances of another female champion are also very high as there are several female players remaining in the mix, including Luther (392,000), 2-time bracelet winner Kristen Bicknell (298,000) and Anna Antimony (200,000).  Luther’s best ever live cash is $65,000, which she got at the 2017 WPT500 Main Event wherein she finished 5th.  If she manages to make a place among the top 6 tomorrow, she would beat her career’s best score with an assured second cash of WSOP 2018.
