Germany’s Denis Schneider Takes Down partypoker Grand Prix Gala On New Year’s Eve

The final day of 2018 was a special day for Germany’s Denis Schneider. He ended up with a big poker title and a nice payout and it came when the world was saying goodbye to 2018. On New Year’s eve, Schneider won the partypoker Grand Prix Gala at King’s Casino Rozvadov for €75,243.

Grand Prix Gala action began on December 26 with Day 1A. The €550 buy-in tournament featured eight starting flights and two more days of play. By the time the final day started on December 31, there were just nine players left to battle it out for the first-place prize of €100,000 and the trophy.

The 9-handed action started with Germany’s Hans Joachim Hein as the chip leader (18.5 million in chips) when cards were thrown in the air on Monday. The eventual winner, Denis Schneider, was almost at the bottom. However, he played some top-notch poker and eventually won the title.

Schneider agreed to a four-way deal with Hein, a player nicknamed .mat, and Tonio Marek Roeder. The winner finally took home a payout of €75,243 and the trophy. Hein collected €55,054 for his efforts, while .mat earned €53,953 and Roeder scooped a cool €47,000 for his deep run.
