Arguably, the most popular star in the poker world – Daniel Negreanu has announced his engagement to Amanda Leatherman, the host of Friday Night Poker on Facebook’s Watch channel. Negreanu shared the news on Twitter this New Year with a photo of the engagement ring.
She said yes.

Born in 1974 in Toronto, Canada, Negreanu, who currently lives in Las Vegas, has an incredible poker resume and several dating adventures. He is a six-time WSOP champion and twice champion of the WPT. With $39,830,194 in his total live poker earnings, Negreanu is one of the most successful live tournament poker players of all time. According to the Hendon Mob, he is the 2nd-biggest live tournament poker winner ever. The player ranks number one in Canada’s all time money list.
Negreanu’s Divorce & Dating Adventures
Negreanu’s love life has been as much in news as his card skills. The poker champion has had some high-profile romances. Most famously, Negreanu dated fellow Canadian poker pro Evelyn Ng.
In 2005, Negreanu married Lori Weber, a Michigan girl. A post reception party was organized at Le Bete, a nightclub at the Wynn Las Vegas and many well-known personalities were invited, including high-stakes cash game player Chau Giang and Eli Elezrea. Even Evelyn Ng was in attendance.
However, the marriage did not last long and ended in 2007. In a blog post dated November 24, 2007, Negreanu himself announced that he and his wife had agreed to an amicable divorce. He blamed the split-up on a busy schedule. Post the divorce, Negreanu was then linked to a number of several poker celebrities, including rumors of his romance with American Pie hottie – Shannon Elizabeth.
In 2010, Negreanu dated poker media darling Amanda Leatherman. Later, he started a relationship with Krisztina Polgár, a Hungarian beauty who won the prestigious beauty contest – “Miss Earth Hungary 2008”. The relationship ended up quickly and Polgár broke his heart as per rumours.
In 2013, Negreanu grabbed headlines for dating and romancing the wealthy Lindsay Blalock. However, their relationship did not work out and within a few weeks, Negreanu tweeted: “For those asking, I am single but me and Lindsay are still friends and she is a GREAT girl as advertised :-).”
In 2014, Negreanu was in news for romancing Las Vegas hairstylist named Marissa. As per reports, he met new flame, Marissa at a charity event in January 2014. The blonde beauty and Negreanu had been together until June of 2018 when Negreanu announced that he and Marissa had split up.
Negreanu is back in news for his love life in 2019. On New Year’s eve, the poker champion announced his engagement with Amanda Leatherman, the former poker media darling known for her interviews on PokerNews.com, as a host of the “Big Game” on Fox and as a hostess on the Heartland Poker Tour and America’s Poker Tour. Currently, she is the host of ‘Friday Night Poker’.
Negreanu and Leatherman had started dating in 2010 but they broke up. Now, they are together again rekindling their romance. While the date and location has not been decided as yet, Negreanu has hinted that a spring wedding is on the cards, and the couple is already planning a family.
