Aditya Sushant, Vinod Megalmani & Abhinav Iyer Score Wins During Their Australian Getaway

After the recently-concluded Aussie Millions, three of our top pros, namely Aditya Sushant, Vinod Megalmani and Abhinav Iyer stayed behind for an extended poker vocation in Australia. While in Melbourne, Megalmani and Iyer entered the A$150 NLHE Monday MegaStack and both of them reached heads-up where they chopped the event. Mumbai’s Megalmani claimed the title for A$2,295 (INR 1.16 Lac), while 2019 APT Vietnam ME winner Iyer finished runner-up for A$1,460 (INR 73,845).

From Melbourne, the trio made their way to Sydney and on the final day of their poker trip, the 2017 WSOP bracelet winner Aditya Sushant shined at the Star Poker Sydney where he took down the Wednesday Weekly to end their trip in style. Sushant bagged A$11,423 (5,77,462) for his win.

A$150 NLHE Monday MegaStack – Casino Crown Melbourne

The A$150 NLHE Monday MegaStack drew a total of 58 entries, generating A$6,960 in total prize money. Top seven finishers received payouts in this tournament. The heads-up battle took place between our two Indian players – Vinod Megalmani and Abhinav Iyer and both of them agreed to a heads-up deal. The dual ended with Megalmani claiming the title for A$2,295 (INR 1,16,079), while Iyer finishing runner-up for A$1,460 (INR 73,845). Here is a look at the final table payouts (AUD):

Weekly Wednesday – Star Poker Sydney

On the final day of their extended holiday, the Indian brigade hit the floor at the Star Poker Sydney where Sushant struck the gold. The Chennai pro won the Weekly Wednesday, which took place on 14th February and drew 136 entries, creating $40,800 in prizepool. The lion’s share went to Aditya Sushant, who shipped the event for an impressive A$11,423 (INR 5,77,462) in top prizemoney. A total of 15 players were paid out in this event with min-cashes starting from $689 in prizemoney.

Sushant, Iyer and Megalmani were also  part of Team India present at this year’s Aussie Millions.  Only Sushant and Megalmani from India had posted scores at the series, with Sushant finishing 25th in the A$1,150 Hyper Turbo for INR 1.22 Lac) and 87th for INR 8.07 Lac in the A$10,600 Main Event. Megalmani took a 5th place in the A$1,150 Terminator to bag close to  INR 10 Lac in prize.
