The inaugural Asian Poker Tour (APT)Tokyo Japan 2019 played at Casino Stadium had a total of 9 events. The series is in the books now. The headline tournament was its Main Event. Featuring a JPY 30,000 buy-in, the event drew a field of 234 entries across three starting flights. While the field had a larger number of Japanese players, it was Thailand’s Kannapong Thanarattrakul, who bagged the title to win a beautiful APT trophy and a slew of prizes to the upcoming APT Philippines I 2019.
Since the law does not allow cash prizes, Thanarattrakul was given a slew of prizes to the upcoming APT Philippines I 2019 in April. He earned a Main Event ticket worth (JPY 120,000), a Championships Event seat worth (JPY 240,000), a High Rollers seat worth (JPY 240,000), plus airfare and hotel accommodations. The top 4 players were paid out in this event. Finishing 2nd was Japan’s Masakatsu Setoguchi. He took home an APT Philippines I 2019 Main Event ticket worth (JPY 120,000), a Championships Event seat worth (JPY 240,000), plus airfare and hotel accommodations.
Finishing third was China’s Jiangbin. He won an APT Philippines I 2019 Main Event seat worth (JPY 120,000), plus airfare and hotel accommodations. Same prize was given to 4th finisher Kohei Iwaki.
Jin Bo Wins The APT Player of the Series (POS) Title
The first-ever APT Tokyo Japan also featured a ‘Player of the Series’ (POS) race and it considered the number of wins, number of deep runs, number of tournaments played, etc. The player who earned the highest points (473.33) was China’s Jin Bo. He won Event #2 NLHE 1 and Event #3 NLHE Turbo. He was awarded the APT POS trophy, ring, an exclusive watch, plus $800 in APT tournament credits.
Finishing 2nd and 3rd in the race were Junya Kubo with 352 points and Perez Luis with 328 points. Kubo won the HR event and finished 2nd at the NLHE Turbo 1. He earned the APT POS 2nd place trophy and $100 in APT tournament credits. Perez Luis finished 2nd in the NLHE Turbo 2 and 4th in the Championships Event. He earned POS 3rd place trophy, plus $100 in APT tournament credits.

The next stop is APT Taiwan 2019, which takes place from February 20 to March 3 at Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association. The event features a NT$ 10 Million guarantee. There are two featured tournaments, the Main Event and the Championships Event along with 21 side tournaments.
