Daniel Lowery Wins His 9th Career Gold Ring at WSOPC Harrah’s New Orleans

Daniel Lowery made history at Harrah’s New Orleans by winning his 9th Circuit gold ring and $16,000 in prize money. Lowery entered a $400 buy-in single-day No-Limit Hold’em event at Harrah’s New Orleans and managed to outlast a strong field of 179 entries to claim his 9th career gold ring from the series and establish himself as one of the most skilled players in the history of the series.

While Lowery loves poker a lot, being a family man and devoted father has become his top priority in the recent years. Being a good father has proved a blessing for his poker career as the player has won five gold rings from the WSOP Circuit since his son was born 3 years ago. Within that 3-year span, Lowery has made 44 final tables and has shipped 11 poker tournaments.

As mentioned, the $400 buy-in single-day No-Limit Hold’em event drew 179 entries, which generated $59,070 in total prizepool. The prize money was shared by the top 18 finishers, with min-cashes being $792. Lowery earned an impressive $15,952 for being the last man standing in the event.

Down to the unofficial 10-handed final table, Lowery was second in chips with 358,000. Chris Lane led the final ten with an overwhelming stack of 882,000 in chips. Lowery was the only former WSOP Circuit champion among the final ten runners. All remaining players were guaranteed a min-cash of $1,151, but all were aiming for the $15,952 top prize that eventually went to Lowery.

Kris Kent was Lowery’s final opponent. Despite his efforts, Kent could not go all the way against his much more experienced opponent and he ended as a runner-up, taking home $9,856 prizemoney.

Lowery’s latest win took his WSOP Circuit ITM finishes to 68 and his earnings from the series to $1,140,153. The player told that the WSOP in Las Vegas will be his next stop. The longest-running series will celebrate its 50th edition this summer, starting May 28 and running through July 16.
