WSOP 2019: Brian Green Ships Super Turbo Bounty To Win $345,669 And 1st Bracelet Of The Series

Brian Green won the first bracelet of the 2019 WSOP by shipping the Event #2: $10,000 NLH super turbo bounty on May 30. The Texas pro outlasted a strong field of 204 entries. He took home his first career bracelet and $345,669 for his win along with $3,000 for every knockout he scored.

This was Green’s first FT and title of this year. He is a high-stakes veteran with now$3,371,366 in live earnings. Talking to WSOP reporters after his win in the tournament, Green said, “Finally, I kind of get the monkey off my back. Now I can play poker and not really have that on my mind.”

Green entered final day with the shortest stack of the final six. He had just nine big blinds but got a big double-up on the fourth hand of the final table. He shoved all-in with Kh Js against Loren Klein’s 4s 3s and won the hand. Daniel Negreanu, who was chasing his seventh gold bracelet, hit the rail and he was the first casualty of the final day. The 6-time bracelet winner fell in sixth place when his Ad 10s lost to Klein’s Qd Jh. Klein spiked a queen on the turn to send Negreanu home for $52,099.

Ping Liu’s journey ended in fifth place. He moved all in and was called by Klein. Liu’s Js 10s lost to  Klein’s Ad-10d on the board of Kd Qs 9c Jc 8s. The latter got Broadway to bust Liu in fifth place.

After an hour later, Klein went out in fourth place when his Ac 9s lost to Ah Qh of Asher Conniff, who had started the final day as the chip leader. Conniff flopped a pair of queens to bust Klein in fourth place.

Green busted Conniff on the very next hand when they were all in preflop with Conniff holding Ad 9d against Green’s Kd Qc. A king came on the flop and Conniff busted out in third place

Green took a 2:1 chip advantage into heads-up against Ali Imsirovic. Green continued to extend his lead and it was all over when Green shoved all-in with Ad 9h and Imsirovic called with his Kh Kd. The flop brought a nine and the river brought another nine and Imsirovic got busted in second place. Green took home $345,669 for his win, while Imsirovic settled for $213,644 as second place prize.
