2020 Super High Roller Bowl Moves Online To partypoker

While most businesses across the world are at a standstill due to the coronavirus, online poker is booming. As most of the poker players are right now at home because of the lockdown, major poker brands are moving their live events online to make most of this new situation. While so many events have already been moved online, the Poker Central’s premier tournament – Super High Roller Bowl (SHRB) is the latest to join the list. The high-stake tournament series will be held on partypoker. This comes after the success of Poker Central’s Poker Masters Online that also ran on partypoker and concluded with a prize pool of $35.4M, which was double of its guaranteed prize money of $16.5M.

The 9-day long high-stakes series kicks off on 23 May and will run all the way till 1 June. Featuring 28 tournaments, the series will offer a hefty $20 million in guaranteed prize money, with $3,000,000 guaranteed for the $100,000 buy-in eight-max NLH event, which will be a two-day event. To reward players for their consistency, there is a leaderboard as well where the winner will receive a free entry into SHRB Online event featuring $100k buy-in and a guarantee of $3 million. The good news for the poker enthusiasts is that ten of the 28 final tables from the series will be broadcast on PokerGO.

“After a successful Poker Masters Online tournament, we knew we had to continue the momentum with an online Super High Roller Bowl series in lieu of a live tournament this year,” said J.R. McCabe, Chief Business Officer of Poker Central. “Our partnership with partypoker will allow us to continue to deliver what our fans love – live poker from the best players in the world.”

“In this time of increased caution, partypoker’s goal is to help fans and players in the poker industry continue to partake in the excitement of the game,” – partypoker Managing Director Tom Waters.

Keeping the coronavirus threat in mind, most poker brands in the world are either postponing or cancelling their poker events or they are moving them online. This news comes a few days after GGPoker and WSOP announced a massive collaboration for a WSOPC online series.
