A total of 4,140 players returned for Day 2 played out on Sunday and coming out on top was China’s Huahuan “F7588” Feng who defeated his fellow countryman Xue qiao “whattfboys” Zhao (runner-up for $159,705) in HU to bank $211,282 in top prizemoney, the bracelet and a package to WSOP Europe.
Feng entered the final table with the chip lead. Wade “JWNomad” Gillett was the first to exit when he ran pocket tens into the pocket aces of Max “TheChosen1” Veyga. A few minutes later, Feng’s A-3 offsuit beat out the pocket sevens of Dean “JoogieJJ” Lipscombe who got eliminated in 8th place.
Xiong “wwwyoujizz” Huang exited in 7th place when his Kc Jc lost to Ad Qh of Xue qiao “whattfboys” Zhao. Zhao scored another elimination, with his Ac 10s holding up against 8s 7c of Di “LuXDi” Lu (6th).
Following Di “LuXDi” Lu were Max “TheChosen1” Veyga, Daniel “Vanessa23” Montagnolli and Ronald “CorVanHout” Haverkamp, leaving the winner Feng and Xue qiao “whattfboys” Zhao in the heads-up.
Holding a 2.5-1 lead over Zhao, Feng took just a few minutes to claim the bracelet. On the final hand, Zhao opened to 4,000,000 and Feng re-raised to 12,500,000. Zhao moved all in for 70,030,367 and Feng called. Zhao tabled Kd 6h against Feng’s Ad 6d and lost the title as the board ran Qh Jh 2d 9s Jc.
