Battle Of The Biggies: Kartik Ved Denies Abhishek Goindi Godfather Win

Yesterday being Thursday, it was yet again time for Adda52’s marquee Thursday event – 20 Lac GTD Godfather, which turned out to be a huge success with a large field of 482 entries. The impressive turnout was enough to crush the tournament guarantee, generating a hefty INR 24,10,000 in prizepool. Top 49 finishers were paid out with a min-cash of INR 13,255, but taking home the lion’s share worth INR 5.9 Lac was the well-known pro Kartik Ved aka ‘Pegasus1505’ who reached heads-up with the Poker Boot Camp Coach Abhishek Goindi aka ‘pomfret1989’, an extremely talented pro who put up a good fight but could not go all the way, eventually finishing runner-up for INR 3.49 Lac.

As usual, the field saw many notable pros and regs. Among them, Sagar Choudhury (3^rd for INR 2,41,000) and WPT India 2018 Main Event runner-up Sahil Mahboobani (9^th for INR 38,560) posted FT scores, while Shagun Jain (10th), Sandeep Varma(14th), Deepak Bothra (17^th), Yohan Patel (20^th), Rajat Sharma (22nd), Aditya Sushant (26th), Naresh Rathnam (28^th), Deepak Singh (30^th), Sam Anand (32^nd), Adda52 Team Pro Tarun Goyal (41^st), & Sanat Mehrotra (46th) were the notable ITM finishers.

A prominent name on the Indian poker circuit, Ved is known for his exploits both on live and online felts. With a massive $375,869 in live earnings, he has plenty of deep runs in prestigious live tournaments and is regarded as one of the best MTT players in the country. He was by far the best Indian finisher at the 2019 WSOP Main Event where he finished 51^st for $ 173,015, his best score till date. His last recorded score was in the BPT Main Event (October 2019) where he finished 53^rd.

A regular at online tournaments, Ved has been playing on adda52.com for several years now. While he has already won on the site, his last night’s win in Godfather seems to be his best score on the platform.
