Anton Suarez Wins partypoker MILLIONS UK Main Event For His Career-Best Score Of $1m!

Anton Suarez has begun his 2020 in style by winning the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS UK Main Event for his career-best $1m after outlasting 530 entries, including Christian Rudolph in the heads-up.

Suarez is known as a cash game player and makes his living by playing cash games live or online. He got into the MILLIONS UK Main Event via a $500 satellite and eventually went on to convert that  into the huge victory. Post his victory in the event, he said, “I don’t play many tournaments, so I’m super happy! I just like to play fast, especially heads up. It’s just more fun. He likes to play fast too.”

This victory was the third title for Suarez who picked up his first win by taking down the $ 1,600 No Limit Hold’em – 6 Max event at the Deep Stack Extravaganza III, Las Vegas (2013). His third victory came just last month when he won €2,150 No-Limit Hold’em Hyper Turbo Knockout at EPT Prague for $27,967. Now with his fourth major win, he has a seven-figure score to brag about.

Only 12 players returned for the final day. With Alex Lindop busting in 10th and Jamie O’Connor going out in 9th on the same hand, the field came down to the final table that featured some big names like  2017 partypoker Millions champion Maria Lampropulos, start-of-day chipleader James Romero and Germany’s Christain Rudolph who eventually finished runner-up for $620,000.

Suarez scored his first elimination by busting his fellow countryman Fredrik Andersson (5th) whose A9 failed to beat A10 of the former. His next victim was James Clarke whose 5d 4d lost to 9h 4h on a board that had three hearts and gave a flush to Suarez. Three-handed play lasted for about an hour before Suarez found another victim in the US poker pro James Romero, who had pitted his KJ against pocket deuces of Suarez who flopped a set to win the pot and bust his opponent in third place.

The heads-up between Suarez and Rudolph lasted for over two hours, with each player taking the turn as the chip leader. Eventually, it was Suarez who won the title for his career-best score of $1,000,000. The last hand saw Rudolph with 7h 4h and Suarez with Ad 8h. The board ran K92A9 to give the pot as well as the title to Suarez, and Rudolph had to settle for $620,000 prizemoney.
