Yesterday being Thursday, it was yet again time for Adda52’s Godfather, a marquee online event that featured INR 25 Lac GTD prizepool. The INR 5,500 buy-in tournament attracted an impressive 517 entries to comfortably crush its specified guarantee and take the prizepool to a whopping INR 25.85 Lac. Coming out on top of the field was none other than India’s poker icon – Aditya Agarwal aka ‘iamherenow’, who eventually outlasted Romit Advani aka ‘ft83’ in the heads-up battle to pocket a good INR 6,20,400 in top prizemoney. Advani settled for a cool INR 3,61,900 for his runner-up finish.
Currently ranked 3rd in ‘India All Time Money List’ with $1,138,066 in live earnings, Agarwal is said to be one of the best Indian poker players ever and his poker resume is littered with numerous wins and deep runs. Agarwal, who shipped the DPT Colossus 200K Main Event for INR 31 Lac and finished 5th in the WPT Vietnam Main Event for INR 26. 52 Lac last year, has been in terrific form of late. A beast on live and online felts, he also had a brilliant run in the recently-concluded Adda52 Online Poker Series (AOPS) where he finished runner-up in the 1.5 Crore GTD Main Event for INR 17.50 Lac. Continuing his form, he added yet another score by taking down Adda52’s Godfather last night.

Top 55 were paid in last night’s Godfather with a min-cash of INR 11,633. Armaan Kochhar (4th for INR INR 1,93,875), Madhav Gupta (5th for INR 1,29,250), Neel Joshi (6th for INR 90,475), and Aniket Pradhan (8th for INR 51,700) were some other notable players who posted final table scores.
Some well-known online regs who made deep finishes in the tournament included the likes of Anuj Yadav (9th), Pranay Chawla (10th), Sanat Mehrotra (15th), Deepak Singh (16th), Avneesh Munjal (17th), Rishi Mundhra (18th), Mihir Thakkar (19th), Sanket Arora (22nd), and Danish Shaikh (23rd).
