APT Online Series: EL BEANjo Takes Down the MAIN EVENT for $144.3K

The biggest-ever 2nd edition of Asian Poker Tour (APT) Online Series has crowned the newest MAIN EVENT champion in EL BEANjo! After 5 days of intense battles among some of the top grinders in the game, the mega tournament eventually concluded last night with EL BEANjo emerging the new champion and walking away with a whopping $144,352.56 for his victory after a three-way deal. Some side events also took place with ‘brynkenneyAA’ banking the second largest score of the day.     

APT Main Event $1 Million GTD

Running between 18 -21 June, the 1 million GTD APT Main Event pulled in a total of 1,985 entries across 16 starting flights for $500 buy-in. A total of 463 survivors returned for the final day. When the tournament had 70 players remaining, ‘EL BEANjo’ was already in the top 10 tier. From there, he put a lot of pressure on his opponents to maintain his high status and eventually ship the event.

The elimination at the final table were quick. After ‘Alors Peut-Etre’ and ‘Transurfing’ exiting in 5th and 4th places respectively, the remaining three players struck a deal and played for the trophy and the ring. In the end, EL BEANjos largest stack steered him to victory. He captured $144,352 for his win. ‘M.Tsigalko’ and ‘kidpoker82’ won $106,238 and $90,158 for finishing 2nd and 3rd places.

Super High Roller $300K GTD

Sporting a buy-in of $5,000, the super high roller drew a total of 108 hopefuls. This resulted in a whopping prizepool worth $513K which was shared by the top 15 finishers. After 7 hours of play, ‘brynkenneyAA’ shipped it after besting ‘Beishadezhu2’ in heads up to bank $116,904 in top prize. The champion also final tabled the Monster Stack, finishing 7th for a cool $5.9K for his deep run.

Event 80: Monster Stack $250K GTD

The three-day event Monster Stack saw a total field of 1,079 entries across 10 starting flights. Only 364 players returned for the final day. Ultimately, it was ‘Theprofessor44’ who clinched the title once again after already taking down Event 27 High Roller. The tournament concluded with a head-up deal with ‘HangulMalMoteyo’ eventually finishing runner-up. ‘Theprofessor44’ shipped the event for $34,964 in first prize, while his opponent banked $36,309, the lion’s share of the prizepool.

The series also offers the APT Player of the Series leaderboard. The top three players at the end will win an APT POS Ring and prize money between $500 to $1,500. The eventual winner will receive an APT Finale Championship Event ticket, while the runner-up will get an APT Finale ME ticket.
