2020 WSOP: Stasiak Ships Event #52 To Become First Player To Win 2 Online Bracelets; Bhatia Finishes 2nd!

Thursday night turned out to be a memorable one for Canada’s Alek “astazz” Stasiak who created history by winning Event #52: $1,000 NLHE of the 2020 WSOP Online on GGPoker for $273,505 and his second gold bracelet. He became the first player to win two online bracelets after topping 2,006 entries including India’s Kunal ‘Alex_52’ Bhatia who finished second for a life changing $207,190.

Stasiak claimed his first WSOP bracelet on July 27 when he won Event #33 ($1,111 Every 1 for Covid Relief Event). Last night, he added second online bracelet to his resume by winning Event #52 of the ongoing series. When the FT began, he had only six blinds. Two hours later, he was the winner.

As for Bhatia, he is a well-known name on the Indian circuit and had grabbed headlines just a few weeks back for finishing runner-up in the IOPC Main Event – The Crown 3 Crores GTD for INR 42.36 Lac. The young entrepreneur is once again in the spotlight, this time for finishing runner-up in the 52nd tournament of the ongoing WSOP Online. He is no stranger to winning big online and has won several titles, including Adda52’s Godfather for INR 5.20 Lac and several other tournaments.

Final Table

The first player to exit final table was Argentina’s Federico ‘elputoamo!’ Molina who earned $21,962. Following him were Jimmy ‘KOBE_BRYANT8’ Guerrero, Jesse ‘AAGenius88’ Mercado, Denis ‘FXOpen’ Peganov. A little later, Montenegro’s Dejan ‘627265’ Kaladjurdjevic exited in the 3rd place, leaving Canada’s Stasiak (40 million chips) and India’s Bhatia (9 million chips) in the heads-up for the title.

Stasiak had the chip lead over India’s Bhatia but the latter managed to take over the chip lead. However, Stasiak came back strongly to finish off the battle with a win. On the final hand, Bhatia moved all in for 7.9 million and Stasiak called. Bhatia held Ah 4s and Stasiak had Ks Qh. The board ran out 8d 7h 3h 3s Kd, giving the title to Stasiak who earned $273,505 and his second bracelet.
