Welcome to the Live Coverage of the DPT Xpress 15K Main Event Day 1A

Hello and welcome back to Deltin Royale in Goa, which is buzzing with excitement for the biggest event of the DPT Xpress March 2021 Edition – the 15k Main Event, which is set to begin in a while from now at 5 pm local time. The buy-in for the Main Event is INR 15K and players will start with a stack of 20K. It has two starting flights, with the first of the two – Day 1A – starting in a while at 5 PM. Both flights will play out today itself, with Day 1B starting later tonight at 9 PM. The survivors from these two flights will return for Day 2 of the event, which is scheduled to start at 5 PM tomorrow.

The late registration for the flight will remain open till the start of level 9. The tourney features 25-minute levels for Day 1 and there will be three short breaks after level 4, 8, and 12. This is the second time that this Main Event is being hosted at the Deltin Royale. Last time, it took place in February 2020 and crowned a champion in Deepak Raina who triumphed over a 192-strong entry field to claim the title for INR 7 Lac. The race for the title begins once again, stay tuned for all the updates!

In the very first elimination of the day, Varun Gupta was seen departing the table. He opened UTG with 700 and a player in the middle position made it to 2200. Varun Gupta re-raised it to 72000 and was called.

There have been several eliminations in the last 20 minutes. One of them is Akash Jajoo who pitted his pocket sevens against Qx 6x of Abhishek and Ax 8x of a player who was in the big blind.

The board ran 3x 7x Qx Qx 6x, giving Abhishek a bigger full house, and Akash Jajoo got eliminated.

There have been several eliminations in the last 25 minutes and one of the recent eliminations is Rajesh Rajpopat.

The hand in question saw Anish from the middle position open to 4x. Ramesh Rao Thotapalli from the HJ and Rajesh Rajpopat from the button flat-called.

On the flop, Anish bet, Ramesh Rao folded and Rajesh called.

Anish shoved all-in and Rajesh called at the risk of elimination.

Akash Jajoo Becomes Short Stack

Jajoo was the first player to bust from the DPT Xpress Main Event Day 1A today. He re-entered but has not been running well. A few minutes ago, his stack came down when his pocket queens lost to Aces.

Pre-flop, a player with A9 open-shoved, Akash Jajoo (QQ) called, and a player with AA shoved for 70k.

The board bricked and the player with pocket aces won the pot.

Jajoo became the short stack, while the player with A-9 got busted.

With the start of level 9, the late registration has closed with 250 entries in total. There are over 100 players remaining in the field. Last year’s DPT X Burn N Turn champion Anish  Juwarkar. is one of the chip leaders with a stack of 127k. The former DPT Xpress Main Event champion Ankit Jajodia is sitting with a stack of 93,000. The DPT Xpress Main Event Day 1A was an action-packed affair and saw a total of 250 entries, with 62 players of them advancing to Day 2 which is scheduled to start at 5 PM tomorrow (14th March). After 12 levels of 25-minute levels, Suffraz Alam bagged the end of the day chip lead with a stack of 225k.
