The WSOP Online Event #12: $1,000 Double Stack, one of the two bracelet events running on GGPoker on Sunday, pulled in 5,894 entries, crushing the $4 million guarantee to build a prize pool of $5,599,300. In the end, walking away with the lion’s share of the prize pool was Hong Kong’s Hinojas Jerome who toppled GGPoker ambassador Felipe Ramos in a thrilling heads-up to win his first WSOP bracelet and $635,576. Ramos settled for the runner-up payout worth $476,612.

The final day saw 927 players return with 600 of them finishing ITM. By the time the final table was set, Brazilian poker pro-Felipe Ramos had made his way into the chip lead. Ramos began the final table action with over 92 big blinds. Jerome was the short stack, while the 2020 WSOP Online $5,000 Main Event champion Stoyan Madanzhiev was in the middle of the pack. Also featuring the final table of the event were two Indian MTT crushers in Sriharsha Doddapaneni and Manish Lakhotia, with the former starting it as the 3rd in chips, while the latter beginning it as the 5th in chips.
Manish Lakhotia, unfortunately, was the first player to be busted from the final table. Lakhotia holding pocket fours flopped a set. Sadly for him, Stoyan Madanzhiev also flopped a set with his pocket sevens, thus ending Lakhotia’s run in 9th place. Madanzhiev continued to wreak havoc and went on to eliminate Nethanel Klein and Xuejian Li in the 8th and 7th places, respectively.
Meanwhile, Madanzhiev lost a huge pot to Hinojas Jerome with ace-nine losing to ace-jack. Jerome, who had started out as the shortest stack on the FT, continued to climb up from there. He doubled up through Yi “jolen” Wang before busting Anton Yakuba in 6th place. Jerome continued on his elimination spree as he busted Stoyan Madanzhiev and Yi “jolen” Wang in quick succession.
Jerome’s next victim was India’s MTT crusher Sriharsha Doddapaneni, who got the last of his chips in preflop with Ac Qd against the 9c 8c of Jerome. The latter flopped a pair of nines to take the lead and held from there till the 5th street. Doddapaneni earned $357,409 as a third-place finisher, while Jerome took down the pot to enter heads-up against Ramos with more than a 3:1 chip advantage.
The final hand saw Jerome min-raise from the button with As 6s. Ramos 3-bet shoved for 66,458,186 holding Ac Jc. Jerome called and the board ran out Jd 9c 6h Qs 6c, giving Jerome a rivered trip sixes to lock up the coveted pot and the title. Ramos had to settle for $476,612 as a runner-up finisher.
