WSOP Online 2021: Arnaud Enselme Ships Event #33: $500 The Closer To Win Final Bracelet Of The Series

The GGPoker/Natural8 leg of the WSOP Online Series featuring 33 bracelet events is in the books. Bringing the curtain down to the series was Event #33, $500 The Closer where France’s Arnaud Enselme topped a 7,013-entry field to win the last bracelet at the series and a career-best $360,223.

Featuring a marathon 16 starting flights, the event generated a $3,373,925 prize pool. Only 1,089 made it to Day 2, with 800 of them getting paid, with a min-cash of $1,152. The bubble burst in just three levels with Tien Thanh “Terryboom” Nguyen going out on the money bubble. From that stage, it took seven hours for the tournament to reach  the final table. Kazuki Ikeuchi (44,928,000) started FT as chip leader with Arnaud “Chocolatine” Enselme (43,163,000) holding the second largest stack.

Qiu Kefei, Ethan Reid, Koki Kudo and Ryosuke Matsumoto were short stacks on the final table and they were first to be eliminated. Following them were Yakov Nesterov and Hernando Guzman.

After the elimination of Ioannis Angelou-Konstas in third place, it came down to the heads-up play between Enselme and Kazuki Ikeuchi who held a 2-to-1-chip lead. The latter took down a few small pots and took a 4-to-1 advantage. However, Enselme scored a huge double-up to strengthen his position and take the chip lead. He finally shipped it after his king-queen bested Ikeuchi’s king-six.
