Rob Yong Bests WSOP ME Champ Espen Jorstad To Win The One Drop For $87,000

Featuring a buy-in of $11,111, The One Drop at the 2022 Luxon Pay Mediterranean Poker Party that played out on August 28 crowned a champion in Dusk Till Dawn founder and owner Rob Yong, who took nine hours to top the 18-entry field to win his first live tournament title and the $87,000 uptop!

He eventually clashed with the reigning WSOP Main Event champion Espen Jorstad (2nd for  $52,600) in the heads-up. The top 3 places were paid out of the total $174,600 prize pool with Phillip Nagy (3rd for $35,000) being the first ITM player. Early in Level 13, he shoved with his 10s 5s and Rob Yong called with Kh 9c. The board ran out  A K A K Q, giving Yong full house and sending Nagy to the rail.

Rob Yong

The elimination of Americas Cardroom CEO Phillip Nagy set up the heads-up between Rob Yong (519,500) and Espen Jorstad (200,500). To ensure them better ambience, the duo was moved to the feature table. While the heads-up battle went back and forth, in the end it was Yong who came out on top to win it. On the final hand in level 17, Jorstad called on the button and Yong checked it out.

The flop 9h 3c 8c saw Yong betting 16,000 and Jorstad jammed with Qc 5c. Yong called with 10c 9h.

The rail was cheering for Yong who had flopped top pair. With a 10 falling on the turn, Yong hit two pairs. Jorstad was looking for a club to complete his flush on the river but the river fell Ks, relegating him to a 2nd place for $52,600 and giving Yong the title, trophy to Rob Yong and the $87,000 prize.

Final Table Results (USD)

  1. Rob Yong – $87,000
